Photo Project Day 20

I recently read about a technique that allows you to create a macro lens by reversing a lens and mounting it on your camera. I didn’t have the correct adapter ring to make this work properly, but tried to set it up by hand-holding it instead. It was a bit tricky…holding the lens in the right position, pressing the shutter button on my remote and holding my video light close to illuminate the tiny spines on the cactus. I have to say that the results were so cool! I used my 50mm/1.8 lens and since it wasn’t connected electronically to my camera, I am assuming my aperture was stopped down at f/16. I’m planning on trying this again with the proper lens ring and exploring this technique a bit more.
