Photo Project Day 7
These yellow beauties captured my camera’s eye today as the sun popped in and out of the wispy clouds. Yesterday, I noticed they were opened fully whereas today they were barely open. I’m not sure why this is, but my suspicions vary from it being a different time of day, lack of direct sunlight or the fact that they might have reached the end of their bloom cycle. No matter the reason, I felt lucky because I love how their delicate petals curl at the ends in this position.
In setting up the shot, I intentionally placed them in front of another colorful bush in the distance, adding some pizazz and texture. I tried a few compositions in the vertical format focusing on a single flower but as you can tell, the horizontal shot was favored. I think the multiple flowers add interest and balance out the red in the background nicely.
