the designer

Based in sunny Santa Rosa, California, I find inspiration for great design in everything I see. My work is my passion and I love to infuse color, textures, imagery and typography into each project. I enjoy working directly with my clients, offering professionalism with a personal touch and love the creative challenge to create a unique product that will leave a positive, lasting impression.

In 1997, I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Design with an emphasis in Graphic Design from California State University, Chico. From there, I pursued a career as a graphic designer while working for JQ Publishing, where I was Art Director for the magazine and all collateral projects. In 2004, I launched my own graphic design firm.

When I'm not designing, I enjoy doing lifestyle photography, including photos of beautiful blooming flowers that my husband and I grow.

the photographer

My philosophy is simple. I want your photographs to be a reflection of your personality and show who you are. With a fun-loving and laid-back approach I try to snap images that are candid, spontaneous and real. It is not just my job, it is my passion. I love meeting new clients, sharing special occasions as I preserve these moments, and watching from behind the lens as people change over the years and families grow. As a breast cancer survivor, I learned the lesson early that you can't take life for granted. I view each and every day as a blessing and wake up feeling incredibly lucky to do something so creative and fun for a living.

Since I was a child, I have been interested in design and photography. My bedroom was wall-papered with pages from the iconic Esprit catalog and I was always toting around my camera. My parents subscribed to National Geographic magazine and I remember countless hours spent gazing at the beautiful photos in each issue. I have always been drawn to landscape and nature photography, being in constant awe of our beautiful world and find it exciting trying to snap that unique view.

When I'm looking through the lens, I think about how to best portray my subject, whether it be a blooming flower or a happy child, and how to capture the essence of their beauty. I not only love being behind the lens, but also the editing phase—where reviewing what I saw through the camera is transferred to the big screen of a monitor. It invites such excitement in me and is where I determine what additional little touches are needed to make that photo pop. When I'm not with my camera, you'll find me in front of my computer working in Photoshop (one of my many loves) or developing graphic design projects for clients in the wine and jewelry industries.
